The 17th International Teletraffic Congress (ITC17) has been held on 2-7 December 2001 in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. Initially foreseen Mid-September, this congress was shifted due the 9/11 events in the USA.

97 papers have been finally presented both in Plenary and Technical Sessions.

The best Student Paper was awarded to Milan Vojnovic, PhD Student at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), for her paper entitled Some Observations on Equations-Based Rate Control, co-authored with Jean-Yves Le Boudec, from EPFL.
