19th International Teletraffic Congress

Performance Challenges for Efficient Next Generation Networks
The 19th International Teletraffic Congress (ITC19) has been held on 29 August - 2 September 2005 in Beijing, China.
198 papers have been accepted for presentation both in Plenary and Technical Sessions.
The best Student Paper was awarded to three PhD Students:
- Mark Necker, from the University of Stuttgart, for his Paper entitled A Simple Method for the IP Packet Service Time in UMTS Networks ;
- Wouter Rogiest, from Ghent University, for his Paper entitled Analysis of an Asynchronous Single Wavelength FDL Buffer
- Yi Xie, from the Sun Yat-Sen University of Guangzhou, for her Paper entitled A detection Approach of User Behaviour based on HsMM
As usual, a workshop on Developing Countries has been organized during 2 days.
Two Fellows of ITC who provided recognized scientific contributions on Teletraffic and devoted a number of years to the development of ITC received the ITC Lifetime Achievement Award:
- Professor Minoru Akiyama
- Dr. Clemens Pratt
The Proceedings of the congress have been published in China.
